PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY - EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER 101 COURSE
This course provides an overview to how the PWC EOC is managed when activated in times of natural/man-made disasters, emergency incidents and/or significant planned events. The overview includes a thorough understanding of what knowledge, skills and abilities must be developed and maintained to serve as a EOC staff member providing coordination and support to agencies, departments, non-governmental organizations and stakeholders that are providing services to the communities of PWC during these times of disaster. Discussions will include a review of the EOC management process, emergency support functions (ESFs), PWC Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and staff expectations.
This course is designed for any and all personnel who are signatorieis on the PWC EOP and/or have statutory responsibilities or functional capabilities during times of disaster management which require their presence in the PWC EOC when activated. This included non-governmental organizations and significant stakeholders (contractors) who provide services to PWC government and/or the coummunity.
It is recommended that the student complete IS-700: National Incident Management Systems (NIMS), An Introduction before attending this course.
