About this event

PRiMR: Disaster Preparedness – The Business Continuity Plan

Is your business prepared to respond to interruption caused by an emergency or disaster event?

When a hazardous event, emergency, or disaster occurs, there may be resources made available to help some of the individuals, families, businesses, and communities that have been harmed or impacted. But, what do you do until the resources, relief, and assistance reach your business? What if the resources, relief, and assistance don’t reach your business? What if your business doesn’t qualify to access the resources, relief, and assistance when it gets there? What is a disaster anyway? What is disaster management? What is disaster preparedness?

This class will introduce the small business owner to “The Business Continuity Plan”. Participants will learn the 6 steps of the business continuity planning process. Effective planning and disaster preparedness could be the difference between a business surviving the interruption caused by an emergency and the untimely ending of business operations.

PRiMR: Disaster Management Education Program is an extension program developed by the Community & Economic Development Team with CESTA 1890 Land-Grant Programs in the Extension Unit at Central State University.

Ambrose Moses III, J.D. will lead the class. Ambrose is an Extension Educator with the CESTA 1890 Land-Grant Programs in the Extension Unit at Central State University.
