Event description

Description

The Royal Society of Chemistry has teamed up with the Black Country Living Museum to offer a truly unique CPD opportunity for teachers of primary science:

A hands-on, inspiring teacher CPD which will help you to raise pupil engagement and therefore attainment in Science by contextualising learning.

This course will equip primary teachers with practical and instantly implementable ideas to teach curriculum science in the context of history. We will link science curriculum learning objectives to the food and health challenges of the early 20th century (Victorians to WW2) and present ideas for cross-curricular activities that will truly inspire the scientists of the future.

Note that transferability of activities to other eras will also be discussed.

Registration and Coffee from 12:30. (Cafe open on site for lunch/additional refreshments).

Pre-visit of museum available on request (please contact heidi.dobbs@nottingham.ac.uk).
