About this event
Shortly after taking office, President Biden reaffirmed the United States' commitment to supporting LGBTQI+ persons in their ongoing struggle against discrimination and injustice.
In commemoration of Pride Month 2022, the U.S. Embassy in Nassau joins the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas in hosting a film screening series, open to the general public. The first film we will screen on Friday, June 10, is the U.S. feature film, Milk.
The film chronicles the story of Harvey Milk and his struggles as an American gay activist who fought for gay rights and became California's first openly gay elected official. We look forward to watching and discussing the film with you!
We work toward a world where everyone has the safety and acceptance to live openly if they choose. LGBTQI+ persons share the same dreams and ambitions as everyone, and deserve to live in a society that values them as they are.
Happy Pride!
