Description

“If you picked your price once and never changed it, it’s probably wrong.” - Phil Libin, Co-founder & CEO of Evernote

Pricing is marketing, and possibly the most important piece of marketing. Pricing is a powerful tool that influences how consumers value your product and helps your company maximize profit. With thoughtful pricing, you can gain huge advantages over your competitors.

Figuring out the price for your product takes much more than adding up costs and throwing on a profit margin. You have to consider your target customer, your competitors, and the value of your product. As you grow, you must continually evaluate the pricing insights you’re gaining from purchase data.

We’re excited to dive deep and help you think about your own pricing strategy. We’ll discuss

  • Pricing for B2B vs B2C products
  • Testing price points before launching
  • Evaluating pricing models
  • Implementing discounts and other incentives
  • Understanding different pricing models and strategies
  • Leveraging data, even when it might be scarce

About the panelists

  • Rachel Renock, Co-founder & CEO of Wethos - Rachel is the CEO and a Co-Founder of Wethos, a platform that deploys responsive teams of creative and marketing specialists to help meaningful brands stay competitive in a rapidly-evolving digital landscape. Through its innovative technology, Wethos is able to instantly price complex work and assemble, onboard and kickoff a custom-built team in less than a week. As an activist and former advertising creative, Rachel has been featured in the New York Times, on NBC, and on stage at Politico for breaking the silence on a culture of sexism and sexual harassment in tech. She believes that now more than ever people must come together at 100x the speed they do today to accelerate progress in a fast-paced world.
  • Andy Krantz, Co-founder & Co-CEO of Paravel - Prior to Paravel, Andy worked with Indré at Delpozo, where he oversaw Finance and Operations for the Americas, including their US based retail presence. Previously he worked at Goldman Sachs in the Merchant Banking Division, Goldman’s direct investing and private equity arm. Andy has a lifelong interest in the business side of fashion and retail, with experience at Saks and Valentino. Andy graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Art History and Economics.
  • John Furneaux, Co-founder & CEO of Hive - John leads Hive as CEO and co-founder, and received his MA in Mathematics and Law from the University of Cambridge and is a keen pilot and cyclist. Starting his career as a strategy consultant to Fortune 500 companies, he saw the serious challenges teams faced while trying to work together effectively. It was the catalyst for a career-long specialism in the tools teams use to achieve their goals productively. After leading the national implementation of Sharepoint for the UK’s Department of Education, John left the consulting world to join Huddle, a small UK collaboration platform, as employee 12. Starting on the frontline, John rose to lead Global Customer Success, building a large team of collaboration specialists across the USA and UK as Huddle grew through Series D to become Europe’s largest collaboration platform. Taking advantage of a huge adjacent opportunity in the team collaboration space, John taught himself to code and built the first version of Hive, a collaboration hub and project management tool, in 2015. Hive has now grown to a company of over 30 employees in the US and several more overseas, and boasts a client list that includes Starbucks, Uber, Netflix and Google.
