Event description

Description

Have you ever walked down the street in your community and wonder, “Why do we need so many liquor stores here?” A key element of environmental prevention strategies is to limit the exposure and access of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and other drugs by limiting retail density. This workshop is designed to help participants understand policy solutions that address retail density while making the connection between health inequities experienced by marginalized communities and the disproportionate amount of alcohol and tobacco outlets. Additonally, discussions will also include how density-related policy solutions can also be applied to the changing marijuana retail landscape.
