Trainer: Amanda Winters, MSW, Assistant Director of Programs and Services at the Mass. Council

Class Description: Prevention practices can greatly reduce risk associated with problem gambling. The goal of prevention is to provide protective factors for both individuals and communtiies to mitigate negative effects associated with problem gambling. This course is designed to provide participants with an overview of contemporary prevention and harm reduction practices for a variety of settings. This includes tools to utilize in both individual settings and community environments.

Learning Objectives

Participants will:

  • Understand basic concepts of Prevention
  • Understand harm reduction and how it relates to Prevention
  • Identify prevention tools that can be used in everyday practice
