Description

This workshop will provide a basic overview of some of the key evidence-based strategies that parents, caregivers, and professionals can apply to prevent and change challenging behavior in children, adolescents, and adults with ASD in home, school, and community contexts.


Objectives

  • To briefly explore the core ASD characteristics and contextual factors that may influence the occurrence of challenging behaviors
  • To identify practical evidence-based strategies that families and professionals can apply to prevent challenging behavior
  • To identify practical reinforcement procedures
  • To outline ASNC's Clinical services, with emphasis on the LifeLong Interventions program that is newly launched in the Asheville area
