Event description

Description

Note: this ticket type is for those who would like to attend WITHOUT Continuing Education Credit.

Those in helping professions experience a unique kind of stress when compared to those in other professions. The nature of the work, and the fact that those in helping professions often encounter challenging, discouraging, and even heart-breaking situations increases a person's chance for compassion fatigue, or a condition in which the person experiences secondary stress caused by helping others who have suffered a trauma or have significant emotional distress.

In this 1-hour webinar, Candice Wilson, LAPC, Program Manager for Georgia HOPE's West region will address compassion fatigue versus burnout and how to recognize the signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue. Following this webinar, the learner should be able to:

  • Discuss the definition of compassion fatigue and comparison to burnout.
  • Discuss the symptoms of compassion fatigue and what to look for.
  • Discuss how to overcome compassion fatigue and increase wellness.

We hope you will join us for our webinar!
