PANEL DISCUSSION

Letterpress printing as a commercial enterprise was well on its way to becoming almost completely obsolete by the 1980s. Fast forward, and today more design and arts programs than ever since the 1980s are setting up print shops. Society of Typographic Arts is partnering with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago to host a panel discussion about the impact of letterpress on art and design.

Scheduled to appear:

Paul Brown—Featured in the film "Pressing On"/Indiana University instructor
Martha Chiplis—Coauthor of the book “For the Love of Letterpress”/SAIC instructor
Cathie Ruggie-SaundersCoauthor of the book “For the Love of Letterpress”/SAIC instructor
Vida Sačić—Northeastern Illinois University instructor
