Join “Balancing Act” columnist Heidi Stevens and fellow Tribune columnist and author Jenniffer Weigel to talk about the ever-shifting issues surrounding divorce, co-parenting and blended families. The conversation will include ways to create new structure for yourself and your family following divorce, as well as ways to shield your children from the inevitable tensions. Attendees are encouraged to contribute to the discussion while they enjoy tea and desserts with the hosts. This event brings to life the same engaging conversations about parenting, love, life and work you've been reading in Heidi and Jen’s weekly columns. This is your time to join the conversation.
Heidi Stevens is a lifestyles reporter at the Chicago Tribune, where she reports on books, relationships, parenting and health. Her weekly column, Balancing Act, runs in the Tribune’s Sunday section. Heidi grew up in the northwest suburbs and studied journalism and political science at Eastern Illinois University. Heidi has been known to purposely get on the wrong bus to work in order to steal 10 more minutes of reading time, particularly if the book is by Meg Wolitzer.
Jenniffer Weigel has been a broadcast journalist in Chicago since 1995. Starting in radio and then moving to television, she won an Emmy Award for her on-camera reporting at CBS and is now a columnist and reporter for the Chicago Tribune. She has written three books: “Stay Tuned,” “I’m Spiritual, Dammit!” and “This Isn’t the Life I Ordered.” Her “Lessons for Life” column runs every Tuesday online at chicagotribune.com/lifelessons.
