Three part series on Aug 4-Intro, Aug 6 Water Bath, and Aug 11-Pressure Canning!

Learn how to preserve food! This 3 part series will teach you the basics of canning. You will learn through online system with time for question and answer and resources.

You will receive the knowledge of the safe practices needed to extend your garden harvest through the year.

Classes are taught by Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Family and Community Health Agents.

All classes are 6:30-7:30pm. They will be recorded

The participation link will be sent to each participant on the day of the event.

  • Tuesday, August 4--Introduction to canning. The why and how we can. Covering the science and safety and equipment used to can.
  • Thursday, August 6-- Water Bath Canning. The basics of water bath canning. What foods are safe and basic steps. We will also have videos showing how to water bath jam/jelly, salsa, and pickles
  • Tuesday, August 11-- Pressure Canning-learn to preserve low acid foods such as vegetables, meats, soups, and more
