Event description

Description

When children and their parents are in the grips of worry and stress, it feels overwhelming. Anxiety is a very persistent master; when it moves into families, it takes over daily routines, schoolwork, bedtime and recreation. To make matters worse, the things adults (including many therapists and school systems) do to help and console anxious children actually make the worry cycle stronger. The great news? Research shows that modifying certain patterns makes a big difference in whether or not children go on to become anxious or depressed teens and adults. This workshop teaches seven concrete strategies that normalize worry, and help families respond and react to worry in a different way.

Lynn Lyons, LICSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist, with a private practice in Concord, New Hampshire. For 27 years, Lynn has specialized in the treatment of anxiety disorders in adults and children. She is an international speaker and trainer on the subject of anxiety, its role in families, and the need for a preventative approach at home and in schools.

We are pleased to offer this presentation to parents, educators and service providers free of charge! If you need CEU's. please indicate this via your ticket selection.
