October 5, 2019 – 2:30pm A Symphony of Voices

Symphony of Psalms – Igor Stravinsky Liebeslieder Waltzes – Johannes Brahms

The Prescott Chorale will open the season with A Symphony of Voices, a concert inspired by the masterwork by Igor Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms. Arranged for Chorus and a chamber orchestra, the orchestration is lush, the music challenging, and the experience transcendent.

Holiday Magic - Music from Ireland, England, and the World

The Prescott Chorale celebrates the holiday season with friend and guest artist, Gary Arbuthnot, in a selection of Christmas music for flute and Chorus. Rounding out the program will be Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols, showcasing the magic of voices accompanied by the beauty of the harp. Upon your completing your ticket purchase you will be asked to choose the 2:30pm OR 7:30 PM performance.

April 25, 2020 - 2:30pm, Ruth Street Theater

Light and Life: This Side the Ground

Requiem for the Living – Dan Forrest Trinity Te Deum – Erik Esenvalds

Requiem for the Living is a transcendent prayer for peace and rest based on the liturgical Requiem and other texts. It is a narrative just as much for the living, and their own struggle with pain and sorrow, as for the dead. The Trinity Te Deum reimagines the Anglican tradition of ceremonial music for a grand occasion in the composer’s own terms. Fanfares, jubilation, hushed and magical at times, this work has the air of both a gentle, stately dance and a naive folksong.

Winners of the Fourth Annual Prescott Chorale Young Artists Competition will perform.
