Preparing Together

Fireweed Collective and East Point Peace Academy are partnering to offer “Preparing Together.” This workshop will explore themes of healing, fierce vulnerability, and transformative justice in order to build community and strengthen relationship among Alaska’s youth organizers. It will also provide an introduction to Kingian and Gandhian nonviolence and some skill-building around conflict resolution.

Fireweed Collective is a statewide alliance of young Alaskans dedicated to community building, leadership development, and activating a generation for a just and sustainable Alaska. East Point Peace Academy is dedicated to spreading the teachings of Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation in California prisons and to help strengthen the emerging national movement to address climate change and racial healing. The training is supported by The Alliance, which is a collaborative effort of multiple and diverse partners across Alaska who recognize the impacts of excessive alcohol use on individuals and communities.
