London South East Colleges invites you to an inspiring six-week, career-ready programme designed to kick-start your future as a Teaching Assistant.

Where: Orpington Campus, The Walnuts, Orpington, Kent BR6 0TE
When: Starting this October, Monday–Friday, 9.30am-4pm for six weeks

This workshop, led by experienced SEND teachers from across the borough, will:

  • Introduce you to working with pupils with Autism, ADHD,and mental health needs
  • Familiarise you with the importance of and protocols for safeguarding
  • Grant you insight into the school environment with visits to local primary, secondary and specialist schools
  • Develop your personal development skills Improve your CV, job application and
  • interview skills
  • Provide you with Level 1 accredited qualifications upon completion: Employability, Customer Service, Mental Health Awareness and Preparing to Work in Schools.

Guaranteed Interview: Complete the course and secure an interview for a Teaching Assistant role.

Entry Requirements

To join the course, you must:

  • Be 19 or over
  • Be legally allowed to work in the UK
  • Have lived in the UK for the past three years
  • Be unemployed and receiving benefits
