Event description
Dive into the ways journalists can build (and maintain) audience trust and make their work stand out in a crowded landscape.

About this Event

Building trust with an audience is hard, but vital to the work reporters and editors do. And as we head into the 2020 election season and beyond, it only becomes more important.

Join ONA NYC and Muck Rack for our October event: A conversation on newsroom trust. Newsroom leaders and experts in the space will share tips on ways to engage with audience members that increase transparency and build trust. We'll also dive into the ways journalists can build (and maintain) this trust on a local and national scale and make their work stand out in a crowded, messy landscape.

You'll leave with a solid understanding of how to build stronger connections with your readers.

You'll hear from:

  • Ashley Alvarado, Director of Community Engagement, Southern California Public Radio
  • Joy Mayer, Director, Trusting News
  • Ariel Zirulnick, Fund Director, The Membership Puzzle Project
  • Jenny Choi, Managing Director of the News Integrity Initiative at Newmark Graduate School of Journalism

Doors open at MuckRack at 6:30 p.m. Food and drinks will be provided. There’ll be plenty of time for networking before and after the panel.

Tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Be sure to get your tickets soon if you'd like to attend, as ONA NYC events often sell out. Hope to see you there!

Thank you to our host, Muck Rack.
