Event description
Preparing kids for happy, fulfilled lives.

About this Event

Join parents and educators from Summit Denali for an evening with Summit co-founder and CEO Diane Tavenner to discuss her new book Prepared: What Kids Need for A Fulfilled Life.

Based on the lessons learned from Summit’s schools, Prepared argues that our kids don’t need to be over-scheduled and overwhelmed. By empowering children to explore their own gifts and interests and helping them develop skills of self-direction, reflection, and collaboration, we can set them up to succeed in college, thrive in today’s workplace, and lead happy and fulfilled lives. Parents and educators can learn more about this approach on Prepared Parents' website at www.preparedforsuccess.org.

Diane has been featured on “Good Morning America,” her essay “How I Learned to Let My Kid Fail,” was published on TIME.com, and Bill Gates said Prepared was at the top of his reading list.

This event is free and open to the public.

Parking is available at Summit Denali. If our parking lot is full, please park in the back parking lot of the First Morning Light Chinese Christian church next door (531 E Weddell Dr.).

All net proceeds from the sale of Prepared will be donated to the Community High School Foundation to support a college and career scholarship fund.
