This workshop is specifically designed to provide 6-modules over two (2) days to help counselors pass the National Counselor Exam with 8-hours of training. The the P.R.E.P.A.R.E. program is developed to provide counselors with a plan to study for the exam, review key content relevant to the exam, educate counselor's on test-taking strategies and allow practical application of test questions with NCE coaches. Participants will also be able to receive access to the private Licensed Professional Counselor Institute Facebook group for the NCE, which includes NCE coaches who are available to answer questions that may come up when you are studying. These steps are configured to help counselors find success when taking the National Counselor Exam.

P.R.E.P.A.R.E. is an 8-hour workshop that covers ways to help you study and understand standardized test-taking for the counselor exam:

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the structure of the counseling exam
• Strategic review of the 8 content areas utilized by the exam
• Review of counseling theories and techniques
• Examine the foundational knowledge of clinical skills and client concerns
• Discuss the diagnostic, assessment and evaluation relevant to the counseling profession

Richarne Fuqua is known as Dr. Shawn, THE LPC, co-founder of the Licensed Professional Counselor Institute as she has offered her workshop (PREP) since 2012 with a 95% pass with tutoring and offering this workshop. She has been a counselor for almost 20 years, a counseling supervisor for12 years, teaching and developing courses for several colleges in Michigan including Human Services, Counseling and Psychology. She has her bachelor's degree in Business Administration-Management, Cleary University (MI), a master’s degree in Counseling from Siena Heights University (MI), and Ph.D. in General Psychology from Capella University (MN). She holds her professional counselor license two states, Georgia and in Michigan.

Presenter: Dr. Cheryl Merchant, LPC.

Dr. Cheryl is known for her 15+ Minutes of Masterclass Zoom livestream and Facebook Live Broadcast, and is co-founder of the Licensed Professional Counselor Institute and she provides therapeutic services to clients, supervision services to limited licensed counselors, mental health education and training to mental health professionals and the community-at-large, and higher education instruction in psychology to students. Her expertise spanning 15 years is treating clients for, and educating school faculty and staff, and the community-at-large on, behavioral and mental health disorders that include, but are not limited to, stress disorders, anxiety disorders, and depressive disorders. Dr. Cheryl earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Management from Northwood University (MI), a master’s degree in Counseling from Ashland University (OH), and Ph.D. in Psychology from Capella University (MN). She is a board-licensed professional counselor in Michigan.
