The mission of the Junior Cotillion is to teach students to treat others with honor, dignity and respect; to teach ballroom dance and the social courtesies that accompany it; and to instill in students a sense of self-confidence and poise in a group setting.

The Icebreaker will allow students a first-hand look how etiquette plays a role in all of our relationships. This is an in-depth etiquette session covering first impressions, introductions and how important your personal presentation is in today's world.  Light refreshments will be provided and dance instruction will follow. This event will be held at the University of Central Oklahoma, in the Nigh University Center.  The Icebreaker will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Outing at the Civic Center We will see, THE ADDAMS FAMILY*.  This smash-hit musical comedy brings the darkly delirious world of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Grandma, Wednesday. Pugsley and, of course, Lurch to spooky and spectacular life.  Class will begin promptly at 6:15 p.m., the students will then participate in a formal reception, commencing at 7:00 p.m.  Light hors d’oeuvres and punch will be served, and the students will have an opportunity to manage a plate and glass while in a social setting.  We will seat for the production at 7:45 p.m.  Tickets will be distributed at the Reception.  Please allow for traffic and parking and use the main entrance to the theatre. * Title subject to change

Winter Dance will be a night of dancing and dining.  Instruction on eating difficult foods will be presented, and fine dining etiquette will be taught to prepare for the Winter Ball and dinner.  We will also be introduced to the Asian culture, with the opportunity to eat sushi with chopsticks.  Dance instruction will follow.  This event will be held at the University of Central Oklahoma, in the Nigh University Center.  The Winter Dance will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

Valentine Dance will be structured much the same way as Junior Cotillion; however, new and advanced etiquette will be taught.  Business Etiquette and interview skills will be part of the curriculum.  We will review dancing from years I and II of Junior Cotillion and add new Latin dances.  The Winter Dance will be held at the University of Central Oklahoma, in the Nigh University Center, from 7 to 9 p.m.  Light refreshments will be served.

The Winter Ball and Dinneris a formal occasion, complete with a six-course instructional dinner.  After the dinner, students will be presented a “bill” with which they will have to figure an appropriate tip and graciously handle any discrepancies, miscalculations, etc. with the waiter.  The evening will take place at Gaillardia Country Club.  Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m.  The Ball will begin at 8:00 p.m. and conclude at 10:30 p.m.
