Predictive Analytics in the Enterprise

Speaker: Carlos Bossy (MCTS, MCP BI, CBIP)

Data Science is a red-hot subject, but what does that mean for SQL Server DBAs and developers?  The Data Mining algorithms in Analysis Services provide capabilities to achieve predictive analytics and modeling with your SQL Server data and any other data you have access to.  In this session you’ll get the chance to cover the data mining process from start to end.  By the end of the day, you’ll have a practical understanding of how to develop predictive models for your data.  The session includes a brief overview of data mining followed by an opportunity to complete actual predictive modeling exercises.  You’ll see how to fine-tune and compare the results using various algorithms, and how to make the best use of the models in your enterprise.   With Predictive Analytics having achieved the Plateau of Productivity in Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies, now is a good time to learn what these powerful tools can do for you.

You will Learn:

  • Overview of Predictive Modeling
  • Learn what SQL Server Data Mining and the Microsoft eco-system provides
  • Review Case Studies from actual Predictive Analytics projects
  • Predictive Model by Class
  • Understand Tools and Algorithms for Predictive Modeling
  • Demos that show Model Development
  • Learn how Models are used with DMX in C#, SSIS, SSRS
  • Exercises by the class so they can develop their own models
