Description

Pre-existing Conditions is back at Matty B's. Back in June, we didn't think the title would still fit. How naive were we? It's a good thing we've got another batch of extremely funny women to keep us entertained while we wallow.

Six of the best comedians in the area are coming to Matty B's for Pre-existing Conditions II. Binghamton's Helen Frazier, Ithaca's Deidre Mollura, Scranton's Angelia Petrillo and Rochester's Madelein Smith, Sarah Benson and Kelsey Claire Hagen are coming together to make this a special night.

Tickets are $5 at the door. The bar opens at 8 p.m. and the show will start at 9.

A stand-out member of Bing Stand-Up, Helen Frazer is from Maplewood, N.J. Back in town for grad school at Binghamton, Frazer has opened for Andy Kindler and "Whose Line Is It Anway?" She entertains the crowds with her domestic tales, plights as a young woman in this society and enviable place in her family.

Deidre Mollura is quickly becoming one of Ithaca's strongest comedians. A member of the first Pre-existing Conditions show in June and a co-founder of the Itha-ha comedy group, Mollura is a collecter of oddities and a lover of the weird things in life -- much to the audience's amusement. She opened for Kevin Salisbury and Brian Barganier on their New York tour in the spring, including a stop at the Bundy Museum in Binghamton.

Angelia Petrillo is one of Scranton's best comics. Nothing is off-limits for Petrillo, who's everywhere around the Scranton area and has performed in New York City. Petrillo closed out the first Pre-existing Conditions show and just won Matty B's Roast Battle II and will defend her crown on Nov. 18.

Kelsey Claire Hagen, a Wisconsin native, teamed up with Madelein Smith to produce the Red, White and Riot tour that hit Ithaca, Pittsburgh, New York City and Toronto. Hagen has opened for Nikki Glaser and Pete Johansen and will soon add Maria Bamford to the list. She's performed at the Burning Bridges Festival in Pittsburgh and is the creator of the Don't Grab My Pussy comedy show.

In addition to her work on the Red, White and Riot tour, Madelein Smith won the March Laughness Comedy tournament twice, the 'Cuse Comedy Showcase and the Who's Got Next? Rochester tournaments along with being a semifinalist at the 2016 Ladies of Laughter in New York City. A New York City resident come October, Smith opened for Rachel Feinstein and Rich Vos, organized the Rage Against the Vageen monthly show in Webster and accepted a job as a Carnival Cruise comedian.

Sarah Benson is a comedian from Canandaigua. Benson's opened for Esther Kuu and Pete Holmes and performed around the East Coast, Toronto and London. She produces a monthly showcase called Show and Tell with Sarah Benson that her grandparents have called "lots of fun." In her free time, Benson likes walking and befriending stray cats.
