Now here's Miracles story from her mother Shelley Peterson:
At 37 weeks pregnant i had a perfectly healthy little baby girl growing and getti g ready to be born in just a couple weeks. I had gotten into a car, with no seat belt, with my brothers girlfriend at the time. We were just pulling out of my driveway when she had a seizure. She slammed the petal to the floor going right into about 30 people at Milky Way. All i could think was i didnt want anyone to die. So by reflex i tried to reach over to steer the wheel and go for the brake, unfortunately at 37 weeks pregnant i was just to big! Going 60 miles per hr i got as far as i could lost control and hit a house. My baby saved my life by not throwing me through the windshield, but unfortunately for her she was the one that paid the price.
Miracle, whose name at birth was Willow, was born by emergency c-section 2 and a half hours later. I dobt remember much from the time of the accident til the c-section. I know the hospital had to take care of me first, but Willow was without oxygen for this entire time! She was born and i heard no crying, i kept asking what was wrong when the er doctor told me there was nothing else they could do and she was gone. I remember laying there crying, holding doctor wagnors hand and us both praying together. 24 minutes later as the doctors were doing there final papers they heard a very faint heart beat, there God had given me my little Miracle, hence her name!
But that was just the beginning, she was immediately transferred to dr chua in Lafayette. I never even got to touch her but at least she was here and alive. The first day of our very Long journey.
