Event description

Description

Join Pratt Institute's School of Architecture on February 25th for the Fluid Frontiers Symposium

Within the context of growing coastal mega cities, the Fluid frontiers symposium will explore how the design and management of threatened environments raises new questions about disciplinary boundaries.

Learn from policy makers, designers, engineers and planners as we discuss the role of Urban Infrastructure in the face of rising environmental pressures associated with Climate Change.

‘The Fluid Frontiers research studied implementation of natural and urban infrastructural systems, namely stormwater management within Red Hook Sewershed, Brooklyn. The investigation focused on one narrow aspect of Climate Change within New York City’s urban environment. The Fluid Frontiers symposium further explores the role of Urban Infrastructure in the face of rising environmental pressures. Within the context of growing coastal mega cities, the symposium will explore how design and management of threatened environments raises new questions about disciplinary boundaries.’
