By Angela Brackenreed

Overview

Welcome to the Prairie Grain Development Committee's (PGDC) 2026 Annual Meeting.

Gather with us March 2 - 5, 2026 in Banff, Alberta at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, where we will exchange information for the advancement of Prairie grain crops. The meeting will facilitate scientific discussion, research prioritization and the advancement of improved crop cultivars.

The Prairie Recommending Committees and Subcommittees for Wheat, Rye and Triticale; Oat and Barley; Pulse and Special Crops; and Oilseeds will be meeting over the course of the four days.

An evening reception, plenary session and scheduled breaks will provide excellent networking opportunities. Guests are welcome to register for the reception only.

The theme of the 2026 plenary session is "Made in Canada Seed." The plenary agenda will be updated here.

Registration will open for members and designated ex-officio on December 8th, 2025. A promo code will be sent out to access these tickets. Click on "Get Tickets," fill in the "promo code" section and apply to unlock the tickets.

General registration will open on January 5th, 2026, and close on February 20th, 2026, or once hotel capacity has been reached.

The registration fee for 2026 is $600 (plus the registration service provider fee of $40.34). Registration provides attendees with the program in its entirety, including the reception and plenary, as well as meals and health breaks as indicated on the agenda.

New guests are welcome to register in advance of obtaining approval from the PGDC Executive. Please be aware that new guest attendance will be vetted to ensure relevance to each of the Prairie Recommending Committees and Subcommittees and overall attendance is limited to venue capacity.
