Pre-requisites:

  • Education & experience: Successful completion of Practitioner 1 (Intro to Anim Therapeutic Massage)
  • Age: At least 18 years of at time of enrollment

Summary:

  • Classroom time: Forty (40) hours
  • Independent work: Three (3) massage series
  • Tuition: $1,560.00 - 50% deposit required at time of enrollment

Course introduction:

The focus of this course is to hone the student’s hands-on skill in massage techniques, address specific animal group and lifestyle considerations, and prepare the student for interacting with professional colleagues.

Curriculum:
This course implements multimodal, kinesthetic learning techniques utilizing group work, hands-on practice with mannequins, stuffed dogs, and supervised interaction with live animals. A 2-hour field trip is scheduled during this course to facilitate integration of anatomy, kinesiology, behavior, and evaluation concepts.
After completion of the classroom portion of the curriculum, independently-conducted canine massage series allow for compilation of learned material and the development of practitioner skills.
