Description

How can teacher preparation advance equity?

To find out, join us for a keynote address and reception on Thursday, January 24 at The McKnight Foundation from 4:00–6:00 p.m.

Dr. Deborah Loewenberg Ball and her colleagues at TeachingWorks, a center at the University of Michigan dedicated to ensuring that all students have skillful teachers, will discuss the equity imperative inherent in high-quality teacher preparation and preview upcoming work with teacher preparation providers in Minnesota.

Intended for P-20 policymakers, practitioners, and educational leaders, this event will highlight opportunities to ensure that teacher preparation programs graduate skillful beginning teachers, which TeachingWorks views as a commitment to equity and a lever for justice in education.

Register by December 18, 2018 to attend the reception.

Participants from outside the seven county metro area who plan to attend the reception may contact Erin Imon Gavin(egavin@mcknight.org) to inquire about travel reimbursement.
