A Message From Your Presenter

Dear Colleague:

As a high school student, I remember sitting in the back row of classes, often daydreaming about being somewhere else, especially when the lesson was not at a pace I could comfortably follow. There were so many times when I could feel the teacher’s frustration in having to repeat delivered content time and time again. I also recall taking tests where I could not remember having covered what was being assessed. I am confident many teachers can identify with my plight.

With the aid of today’s readily available technology, students now have so many more learning tools available to keep them engaged in their content learning. In this workshop, I will show you ways to make efficient use of technology that will enable you to effectively utilize a model of flipped learning that is right for your school and your classroom.

The Flipped Learning Model combines the best of traditional learning and the transformative nature of the Internet. This workshop has been designed to cover your basic questions and challenges surrounding flipped learning. I will address topics such as:

  • Technology you will need to create digital content for flipped learning
  • How and where to post your digital content
  • Elements of a successful flipped classroom environment
  • How to create authentic learning opportunities for your students in a flipped learning environment
  • Ways to ensure access to out-of-class content for all students in a flipped learning model
  • Strategies to win constructive support from your administrator, tech director and school community

I have designed this workshop to help you discover relevant and productive ways to use technology to enhance your students’ learning. Through concepts and examples, I will show you how to turn a good lesson into an awesome learning experience by turning traditional content delivery upside-down. Flipped learning is so much more than simply providing recorded content to your students. It is an opportunity to truly turn your classroom into a place where great ideas are conceived and understood.

We will explore practical strategies and perspectives that will encourage you to confidently flip your classroom, transform student interaction, differentiate instruction, and so much more.

I look forward to meeting you at the workshop.
