Exhale to Inhale Presents a special summer series, From Self-Care to Collective Care: Healing in Community featuring voices of leadership in yoga.

As part of our summer series, we're thrilled to bring you Practical Approaches to Compassionate Practices with Youth with Dana Asby, Director of Innovation & Research Support at the Center for Educational Improvement and Education Coordinator of the New England Mental Health Technology Transfer Center (MHTTC), co-author of a book called Compassionate School Practices - Fostering Children's Mental Health and Wellbeing.

As a trauma-informed yoga wellness instructor, parent-coach and educator Dana understands how mindfulness and compassionate practices can promote the well-being of school-aged children, their parents and educators. Children spend a majority of their time in school, and for some it may be the only place they receive support and care. The responsibility of fostering and nurturing the social-emotional and mental health of children rests upon all of us -- the community that supports their development. According to the CDC's recent reports, suicide is the second leading cause of death in adolescents and young adults ages 10-24. Further, more teenagers and young adults die from suicide than from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia, influenza, and chronic lung disease combined, also according to the CDC.

Dana's book serves as a much needed holistic resource. Join us to learn how we can foster children's well-being and mental health so that it may have a ripple effect and transform the lives of entire communities. Whether you are a parent, teacher, school administrator or caretaker of children in any capacity, this session is for you!
