Event description

Description

This one day workshop is aimed at those interested in how rheological measurements can be used to characterize crude oils and oilfield chemicals.

Whether you wish to learn more about what factors impact viscosity or you want to move beyond viscosity measurements and learn how rheological measurements can be used to identify the structural strength and other basic material properties, this is the right workshop for you.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Understand how viscosity and rheology measurements are made and used
  • Recognize the various types of flow and viscoelastic behaviors
  • Identify the appropriate rheological test to resolve a variety of material characterization needs for crude oils, oilfield, and pipeline chemicals

Engineers, chemists, students, and lab technicians will find the information useful in solving problems found in the oil industry. The workshop includes both classroom lecture and laboratory demonstration to combine theory and hands-on into one practical workshop.
