The San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, in partnership with the Glen M. Broom Center for Professional Development in Public Relations in the School of Journalism & Media Studies at San Diego State University, will offer a “Public Relations Boot Camp,” Saturday, May 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The workshop will be taught by Dr. Bey-Ling Sha, APR, director of the SDSU School of Journalism & Media Studies and co-author with Dr. Glen Broom of the 11th edition of Cutlip and Center’s Effective Public Relations--long considered the “gold standard” public relations textbook.
The boot camp is designed for those public relations practitioners who are new to the profession, including those entering at mid-career, as well as those preparing for the examination for Accreditation in Public Relations (APR/APR+M). The workshop will cover strategic planning, theoretical principles, research, law and ethics involved in the profession.
- $35 for PRSA SD/IC Chapter Members
- $35 for Military
- $65 for Non Chapter Members (Participants who sign up for Chapter membership before the PR Workshop registration deadline on May 6 will have their event registration fees waived.)
The fee includes continental breakfast and coffee, lunch, and on-campus parking in PS 14 (previously known as PS 8).
