P&P Live! Anne Lamott | DUSK, NIGHT, DAWN with Bob Goff
Event Information
About this Event
Politics and Prose, Midtown Scholar, and Bookmarks welcome bestselling author Anne Lamott, known for her beloved books like Operating Instructions, Bird by Bird, and Help, Thanks, Wow.
In Dusk, Night, Dawn, Lamott explores the tough questions that many of us grapple with. How can we recapture the confidence we once had as we stumble through the dark times that seem increasingly bleak? As bad news piles up—from climate crises to daily assaults on civility—how can we cope? Where, she asks, “do we start to get our world and joy and hope and our faith in life itself back . . . with our sore feet, hearing loss, stiff fingers, poor digestion, stunned minds, broken hearts?”
We begin, Lamott says, by accepting our flaws and embracing our humanity.
Drawing from her own experiences, Lamott shows us the intimate and human ways we can adopt to move through life’s dark places and toward the light of hope that still burns ahead for all of us.
Lamott will be in conversation with Bob Goff, author of the New York Times bestsellers Love Does; Everybody, Always; and Dream Big. He's a lover of balloons, cake pops, and helping people pursue their big dreams. Bob's greatest ambitions in life are to love others, do stuff, and, most importantly, to hold hands with his wife, Sweet Maria Goff, and spend time with their amazing kids.
A limited numbers of signed copies of the book are available on a first come, first served basis. This event will be pre-recorded and live-streamed to a private YouTube page. Ticket holders will have the opportunity to submit their questions for the author up to two days before the recording.
