Our Power Up Summer Programme is LIVE!

Being creative, moving and socialising is a great way to feel well and learning new skills can be fantastic for your self esteem - so we have planned a summer packed with it all, for free, for young people and young adults in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

This session we will be instructed on to use pyrography pens to burn and singe patterns into materials. All with help and supervision from not only our DBS checked team of wellbeing practitioners, but also from qualified instructors coming in especially for us!

This session will be for 16-25 year old young people - please see our other events for a matching session for 10-15 year old young people!

Support to finance and arrange transport can be discussed.

Please ensure you are contactable if you are a parent/guardian in case we need any consent/ disclaimers on behalf of the venues (e.g. for any outdoor exercise activities)

Participants must wear appropriately clothing and trainers for exercise and/or to possibly get dirty crafting, where applicable

Frequently asked questions

I'm under 18 - can I still join?

Absolutely - we just need you to provide a contact for your parent(s) or guardian(s) so that we can gain their agreement. The activity is suitable for children and young people so we simply need permission, a completed questionnaire and we are ready to go!

I am over 18, can I still join?

Please see the guidance in the event description for any age restrictions - if there is none, then anyone under 25 can access our activities for free!

What should I bring?

Young People should wear comfortable clothing that would be ok if they got dirty or slightly damaged as we will be crafting!

I am a parent/guardian and I am a bit worried, can I come along and watch?

We understand that it can be daunting to let your child go to an event on their own. Unfortunately, we don't have space for parents to join in the session but there are many leisure opportunities nearby where you can stay close for the duration of the session.
