About this event
Power Up Gets Creative!
Creativity is a great way to express yourself and feel well! Meeting people while learning new things can also be a great equaliser and confidence boost. Our weekly creative wellbeing group is designed for young people looking to learn new creative skills to express themselves with the support from instructors and our wellbeing team!
We will cover a variety of different activities over the year but each will be under full instruction from a Lark Design Make resident Tutor - check the agenda for details on each session!
So get ready get creative, meet other young people in the area and learn new skills! - this group is also supported by fully trained and DBS checked wellbeing workers who are happy to help young people get comfortable in a new environment!
Support to finance and arrange transport can be discussed.
PLEASE NOTE:
There is a studio dog on site by the training organisation, so please beware in case of allergies and or phobias - info on her here: https://www.larkdesignmake.co.uk/gwen
Signing up gives you access to one session at a time - so if you want to go every week, you need to make sure to sign up each time - that way we can make sure to work around YOUR schedule :)
We will need to gain parental/guardian consent for young people under 18.
Frequently asked questions
Absolutely - we just need you to provide a contact for your parent(s) or guardian(s) so that we can gain their agreement. The activity is suitable for all people over 10 years old and is supervised by members of staff from Platfform, so we simply need permission and then we are ready to go!
Unfortunately, our risk assessment means that only people over 10 years old can participate, even with parental supervision.
We understand that it can be daunting to let your child go to an event on their own. Unfortunately, we don't have space for parents to join in the session but there are cafes and charity shops nearby for you to explore!
Young People should wear comfortable clothing suitable for arts & crafts and possibly to get dirty. Ideally, no jewellery. Otherwise, wear what you like!
