Event description

Description

Cooperatives are a powerful part of the U.S. economy, boasting almost 65,000 establishments and a total membership of over 115 million people.

By connecting member needs to services provided, cooperatives are stable, responsive, locally-based institutions that nurture and develop authentic local leaders and informed and empowered members. While cooperatives contribute to the creation of healthy, sustainable and equitable communities, national, state and local policies can hinder their growth and development.

On September 12, 2019, NCBA CLUSA, the Cooperative Development Foundation and local partners the University of Wisconsin Center for Cooperatives and Cooperative Network will host a regional cooperative policy roundtable in Madison, Wisconsin.

This one-day Regional Policy Roundtable discussion is an opportunity to connect with local leaders and cooperative business experts to identify and articulate the most significant strategic national, state and local policies, financing mechanisms and other systems and structures that support or impede cooperative development. See the schedule.

A light breakfast will be served and lunch will be provided.

Please note: NCBA CLUSA will take video footage and photographs at this event. By attending, you agree to give NCBA CLUSA permission to use your image for lawful purposes including publicity, illustration and advertising.
