The Power Hour Webinar

For most of us, climate change is complicated and dreary. It doesn't fly, it's not furry and fun, and it's easier to divert our thoughts away from it. Unfortunately, climate change is the number one threat to nature. We want to share the good news that we all can engage in actions that lessen its effects.

By taking energy efficiency measures, installing solar, and making the switch to green electricity, Mass Audubon has reduced its carbon emissions 50% since 2003. Now, Mass Audubon and its partner Mass Energy want to inspire you to do the same!

There are three statewide programs you may take advantage of to reduce your carbon footprint:

MASS SAVE is a rate-payer funded energy efficiency program run by the utilities. Getting a no-cost energy assessment is a great first step to greening your home. You can schedule an assessment by calling 866-527-SAVE (7283).

MASS SOLAR CONNECT is a new program for homeowners interested in getting solar installed. The program was created by the Mass Clean Energy Center and is being piloted by Mass Energy. The program is running until August 31. You can sign up for a free roof assessment here:

MAKE the SWITCH to Green Electricity is a Mass Audubon campaign encouraging members and others to switch from fossil fuels to clean, local sources of electricity. Switching is an easy and very effective way to reduce your carbon footprint, whether or not you can install solar. Mass Audubon made the switch 10 years ago! It does cost slightly more, but the extra you pay is 100% federally tax-deductible, if you itemize charitable contributions.Plus, the premium helps support new, local renewable energy projects! You can make the switch online ( or you can sign up over the phone at 617-524-3950x5.

This webinar is a great opportunity to learn more about these programs and get your questions answered.

The Webinar is free and will be recorded.
