Frequently Asked Questions
- How would I join the Community Hour conference call?
Once you register, you would recieve instructions on how you would be joining the Community Hour conference call. We currently use Skype for Business to host this call. You would be joining this call from your computer and may be prompted to install software or plugins before you can begin the call. Just follow the on-screen instructions.
- Would you answer each and every question asked during the community hour?
It may not be feasible to answer each and every question posed during the session, but I'll certainly try to do so.
- What kind of questions could I ask during the session? And what kind of questions may not be appropriate?
Local Business: If you represent a local business, you may ask questions around general advice for Power BI adoption and deployment. You can even ask quick technical questions. But if you ask me a complex technical question (e.g. How can I optimize my DAX Query for this report?) I would probably not be able to answer that in this forum.
Career Guidance: You may ask me any general questions about how to get started on the learning path of Power BI and how to continue that journey. You may even ask me quick technical questions or clarifications of concepts. Just don't expect me to get you fully trained on Power BI in this event (for that I would recommend my book as a good start).
Book Readers: Readers of our book can ask any question pertaining to the book. I would be happy to explain a concept in the book or explain a formula (measure) on the AdventureWorks dataset used in the book. If you have questions around your own dataset, I may only be able to provide generic guidance.
