Event description

Description

The State Data Center at the University of Louisville is a longtime resource for researchers, journalists, grant writers, public policymakers, and others who need to understand our state's demographics. As the Center's director, Dr. Matt Ruther is a go-to expert statewide on Kentucky by the numbers.

We've invited Dr. Ruther to break these numbers down for Northern Kentucky, with a particular focus on wealth and poverty -- and, because we are partnering with Northern Kentucky University to focus on housing insecurity as a community concern, to look especially has housing stats for our region.

Doors open at 7:45 a.m. for this cafe. We'll have a complimentary continental breakfast. Dr. Ruther will speak and field your questions.

Parking for this event is on the street and in local parking lots. The Freedom Bell lot is less than two blocks away. There is some on-street parking near the church, too.

NOTE
We invite you to read the book "Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City," by Matthew Desmond, who won the Pulitzer Prize for general nonfiction this year for this look at housing insecurity in America. Desmond will speak at NKU on April 19, 2018, and this Northern Kentucky Forum is part of the discussion in our community of this issue that Desmond's appearance is designed to foster.
