Event description
POVERTY SIMULATION TRAINING

About this Event

1 of every 6 Hawaii residents, many of whom are children under 18, live in poverty every day. Even more have incomes above the poverty line, but still nowhere near the minimum they need to house and feed their families.

ROUGHLY HALF OF HAWAII FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN STRUGGLE TO MAKE ENDS MEET.

While most of us may have financial concerns, we cannot truly understand the situations that families living in poverty experience every day – the decisions they must make, and the fears and frustrations they feel. That is why we are inviting you to walk a mile in the shoes of those facing poverty by participating in a POVERTY SIMULATION – a half-day experience for all who work with or want to help find solutions for our community in poverty in Hawaii.

THIS EVENT IS OFFERED AT MINIMAL COST AS A COMMUNITY SERVICE: $25.00 per participant

This training is particularly significant for those working directly with individuals and communities in poverty: Social Service Providers | Schools & Educators | Policy Makers | Board Leadership | Church Personnel | Minimum Wage Employers | Health Care Providers Government Agencies | Community Leaders
