Pottery Workshop w/ Raffa of Sunken Orchard Ceramics

Nest welcomes back Raffa Vergata for another fantastic pottery workshop!

Join Local artist, Raffaela Vergata of Sunken Orchard Ceramics in learning the Hand Building Techniques she uses to create your own functional, beautiful mugs.

This class is perfect for first-time potters. You will learn the basics of making a mug from a flat piece of clay. We will also explore texture as it pertains to form and function.

There will be a step-by-step demonstration by Raffaela on mug construction with tips and inspiration for decoration, followed by the opportunity to create two of your own, one-of-a-kind ceramics.

Materials:

All materials will be provided but students are encouraged to bring in small found objects that can be pressed into the clay to create texture. All materials are washable, but students should wear clothes they don't mind getting dusty.

Kiln Firing Included. Raffaela will fire your mug in her electric kiln, making it food safe and dishwasher safe. Firing can take up to 4 weeks.
