About this event
Ever wanted to try throwing pottery on the wheel? Now's your chance!
Join us for a fun evening of ceramics where you'll learn to center, throw, and glaze your own stoneware creation. Beginners are welcome to attend - so don't be shy. Our classes are relaxed so all can learn in a judgement-free environment. It's a great way to spend time with a friend or a date!
We'll have a brief demonstration of all the basics before you try your hand at the potter's wheel, and the two of us will be right by your side to guide you through the process. Seats are limited so each student has plenty of one-on-one time with our instructors. By the end of the evening, you'll have a basic knowledge of how to use a pottery wheel. Our goal is to help you get a feel for pottery, so everyone should feel accomplished no matter if your pot turns out how you planned it to or not! If you do successfully create a piece, we will be fire it for you and let you know when it's ready to pick up in a week or two.
Note: We recommend trimming your nails before class and wearing clothes that you don't mind getting dirty! Check out the photos below to see the posture you'll be assuming at the wheel for an idea of what you might want to wear :) If you do wear longer nails, we can provide tools to help you prevent making nicks in the clay.
