Pottery - 8 week throwing evening class - Monday
Overview
Whether you're wanting to take your pottery to the next level or having a go at throwing on the potters' wheel for the first time our evening class is for you.
Pottery Wheel throwing will cover all the basics of working on the potters' wheel. During the six sessions we will cover all the basics of pottery technique - clay preparation, bowl and cylindrical throwing, turning, handling and decoration.
Mondays pottery wheel throwing class is lead by Hamish Symonds and is aimed at all skill levels. Wednesday evening will be taught by Jack Welbourne and is aiamed at improvers. Our aims is that students are offered the widest range of support and experience they can be during there time at the studio.
The class is taught in a buff stoneware clay mixed by jack in the studio from 3 Devon and Dorset ball clays. Students will have the option to keep a selection of the work produced on the course at a cost of £5 per 10cm cubed. Students will get to choose from a selection of stoneware glazes for their selected items which will then be reduction fired in Jack 45 cubic foot reduction kiln.
