Bike Rodeo Course (BSD Students Only)
This ticket gives unlimited access for BSD students to the bike rodeo riding course. All bikers are required to wear a helmet, and are encouraged to bring their own bike (a limited number of loaner bikes will be available onsite).

This is for the 10:30AM commuter safety training session. This is a classroom-style presentation (no bike riding).

This event has been postponed until a later date to be determined

 The Bike Warrior Rodeo: Learn to Ride Right event is completely FREE thanks to the Safe Routes to School program sponsorship, and that of the Silicon Valley Bike Coalition and the Bay Area Bike Mobile. This event will include the following activities:

  • Bike Skills Safety Training and Obstacle Course (BSD students only)
  • Bike Commuter Skill Training: everyone (open to the community)
  • Bike-Powered Refreshments: everyone (for participants of either event)
  • Free bike tune-ups and minor repairs (preference is given to BSD students)

These events are First Come, First Served and all participants need a ticket issued through this Eventbrite event.   

Bike Skills Training and Obstacle Course

This activity is open to only Burlingame School District students, and will run form 9:30AM to 12:30PM

The Silicon Valley Bike Coalition will be running the on-bike training course designed to improve the riding skills of all riders. The bike course can accomodate all level of riders, from those riders fresh off training wheels to confident vetran riders. Each rider can ride the courses as many times as they would like and will also receive a gear safety check, road safety instruction, and supervisison and instruction on how to ride right. The bike course will be open from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. 

You are encouraged to bring your own bike and are required to bring a helmet. There will be only a limited number of loaner bikes available on site.

Important: Your child must bring a signed Participant Agreement Form for this program.

Bike Commuter Safety Training

The Bike Commuter Safety Training is open to everyone and is designed for riders 12 years old or older. This one-hour classroom-style training (no bike required) will be taught by an League of American Cyclist certified trainer and will cover the basics of being a safe commute biker, current local bike laws, and tools and resources available to bicylists. This training will be from: 10:30 - 11:30 AM. Space is limited and every particpant will need a ticket 

Bike Tune-Ups by Bay Area Bike Mobile

Free bike tune-ups and minor bike repairs will be provided by the Bike Mobile mechanics. Their capacity is limited, so preference will be given to BSD students. Sign-ups for repairs can be made at the event directly with the mechanics. 


What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? 

We encourage biking to the event, but there will be a drop-off area at the front of the school and parking is available on the street or limited in the school parking lot.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Don't bring: Dogs

Do Bring: A helmet, a bike, comfortable biking attire, sunscreen, and water/snack.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes, but you will need to let us know. If you are not going to attend please cancel any unused tickets so we can offer them to others. 

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes, it will help get everyone through the check-in line faster. Also, bring your signed waiver form too. 

Can I invite my child's friend to participate in the bike course if they do not attend the Burlingame School District? 

Unfortunately, because of space availability and funding restrictions, only BSD students can participate in the riding section. Guests are welcome to join the Bike Commuter training activity.
