Postpartum Doula Training
Fri, Jun 2, 2017, 10:00 PM – Sun, Jun 4, 2017, 4:00 PM CDT
Postpartum Doulas help families after the birth of their baby. The birth of a baby is a huge change for a family emotionally, relationally and physically. Many families have limited support and help from extended families and partners may have limited time off to help care for the mother and baby. Postpartum Doulas fill an important role by providing care and support for the new mother and helping her to be her best.
There are many tasks that a postpartum doula can fill. This training will help you better understand the needs of a postpartum mother, to recognize the signs of a postpartum mood disorder and to better understand the typical changes a family faces when a new baby comes into the family. You will learn the basics of caring for mother and baby, learning how to listen and respond to a mother's needs and helping the new family to have a successful and positive adjustment.
Postpartum Doulas fill a crtical role and the demand continues to grow as families recognize the value of support and help! If you enjoy helping new families, this is the career for you!
