Things are changing quickly - and so it's helpful to hear what indie filmmakers are doing, what they are concerned about and plans they are making at this time. Our speakers include folks from producing, supporting, to directing.

Hear from:

Jude Chehab, a multi-award winning DP and feature filmmaker based between New York and Beirut. She is in post-production on a feature documentary filmed in Lebanon. Filmmaker Magazine named her one of the 25 New Faces of Independent Film in 2021.

Amber Espinosa-Jones is a creative producer and racial equity facilitator from Oakland, CA. She is a 2021-2022 DOC NYC Documentary New Leader and currently producing the feature film STANDING ABOVE THE CLOUDS following Native Hawaiian mother-daughter activists executive produced by Multitude Films.

Jamie Goncalves is a Brazilian-American producer whose work spans documentary and fiction, a 2018 Sundance Institute Producing Fellow and Impact Partners Producing Fellow. He is a co-founder of Sin Sitio Cine, a production company operating in the U.S. and Mexico.

Anjanette Levert is a producer, filmmaker, curator/programmer and professor at the number one Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Spelman College. She is currently producing Mathew Hashiguchi's The Only Doctor.

Jude Chehab is a Lebanese American filmmaker whose cinematic interests have drawn her to the exploration of the esoteric, the spiritual and the unspoken. A richly layered visual and intimate personal shooting style developed under the mentorship of Abbas Kiarostami’s final student group; Jude has been credited in collaborations with the BBC, Refinery29, Oxfam GB, and Doctors Without Borders. She has worked as a DP internationally, on films in Somalia, Sudan and Pakistan and was most recently, an AP on Sesame Street’s newest show for Syrian refugees. Her work has been awarded fellowships through: CAAM, NeXtDoc, Points North Institute, Firelight Media and Close-Up. Jude is currently in post production on her first feature documentary supported by: IDA, ITVS, TFI, Sundance. Filmmaker Magazine named her one of the 25 New Faces of Independent Film in 2021.

Amber Espinosa-Jones is a creative producer and racial equity facilitator from Oakland, CA. She is a 2021-2022 DOC NYC Documentary New Leader and currently producing the feature film STANDING ABOVE THE CLOUDS following Native Hawaiian mother-daughter activists executive produced by Multitude Films. Amber also serves as Senior Manager of Artist and Audience Impact at Sundance Institute where she oversees strategy, granting, and community partnerships for artists and audiences of color. With a diverse arts background in theatre and film, Amber is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s Dramatic Arts and Media Arts + Practice programs with an interest in art for social change and collaborative community building.

Jamie Gonçalves is a Brazilian-American producer whose work spans documentary and fiction. His recent films include Juan Pablo González’s scripted feature debut DOS ESTACIONES (Sundance 2022 Special Jury Award, Cinema Guild) and González’s documentaries CABALLERANGO (IDFA 2018, Grasshopper) and LAS NUBES (IFFR 2017). Jamie also produced Nathan Truesdell’s shorts BALLOONFEST and THE WATER SLIDE—the most watched films on The Atlantic with over 22 million views; Isidore Bethel’s ACTS OF LOVE (Hot Docs 2021); and Nick Berardini’s debut KILLING THEM SAFELY (Tribeca 2015, IFC). In 2015, Filmmaker Magazine named him as one of the “25 New Faces of Independent Film.” He is a 2018 Sundance Institute Producing Fellow and Impact Partners Producing Fellow. From 2011 to 2014, he served on the programming team at the True/False Film Festival. He is a co-founder of Sin Sitio Cine, a production company operating in the U.S. and Mexico.
