Exploring the Possibilities, Challenges, and Processes of Governance in Online Education

With online learning on the rise, questions of educational quality and legitimacy have become increasingly prevalent and calls to explore governance have emerged. Will online education revolutionize educational access and opportunity, or will it accelerate a downward spiral in educational quality? And what role does governance play in determining the outcome? How will data privacy and the integration of new enabling technologies need to be addressed? In this online conference, we will explore the se questions and the possibilities, challenges, and processes of governance in online education.

The online conference marks the second phase of Project Ungoverned? The Online Learning Landscape and follows our recent podcast series, which looks at the online education and its governance across the globe, including new ways of teaching and learning, data privacy, enabling technologies, and online higher education. This online symposium is being convened by Project Ungoverned?, which takes place within the Bosch Alumni Network – a network which consists of people who’ve been supported in one way or another by the Robert Bosch Stiftung. The network is coordinated by the International Alumni Center (iac Berlin), a think and do tank for alumni communities with social impact.

Each 30-minute session will include a 20-minute presentation by the speaker followed by a question and answer session.  The working language of the symposium is English. You can attend the whole program or individual sessions. Please register here to receive access to the platform.
