Event description
We created this movement to promote positivity, connectivity, and inclusiveness through storytelling and philanthropic outreach.

About this Event

Cornell Thomas is an international speaker, multiple title author, innovator and social entrepreneur from New Jersey. Cornell travels all over the world sharing his story and philosophy through keynote speeches, workshops, and his Positivity Summits. Cornell watched his mother Tina Thomas maneuver through some extremely difficult times while raising him and his four other siblings. Those life lessons have helped mold Cornell into the man he is today, and has given him the real life knowledge and experience needed to impact others. The When and Why • It was at a Tony Robbins event in 2015 where Cornell first had the epiphany of creating the Positivity Summit.

Although impressed with the event he was attending Cornell wanted to figure out how to create a life changing experience that was more than just a Jacuzzi experience. He wanted to leave attendees with something that would last long after the event was over. The biggest dilemma with these type of events is the mojo eventually wears off. So Cornell started writing and two hours later he realized that the Positivity Summit was the solution. He didn’t want attendees to leave with just notes. Life is about experiences so he figured out a way to make his event an experience no attendee would ever forget.

The second issue was the cost of the event. Most workshop or event tickets can easily cost thousands of dollars per person, which essentially eliminates opportunity for those that cant afford that kind of price tag. So Cornell decided to make the event $250 with the belief that mostly anyone could save up to attend his event.

Cornell decided that his event wouldn’t just consist of him speaking. One of the most fascinating things about other human beings are their stories. So he decided to bring in a diverse group of speakers of all different genders, races, religions, and ethnicities. From pro athletes, to cancer survivors the Positivity Summit would have something for everyone, but there’s more. Cornell wanted people to take action.

Talking about changing the world is easy to do, but going out and helping others is real action. So the “Pay It Forward Day” was incorporated into the Positivity Summit. On the second day if the event all attendees will do some type of outreach work together. There is no greater gift than giving, and there’s no greater reality check then helping others that have a lot less than you do. So Cornell partnered with his good friend Jennifer Depaul who runs a non-profit called Project Kind.

Their mission is to help those in disadvantage situations get back on their feet. From things as small as giving a sandwich, to getting them from homeless to housed, Project Kind has been serving those in need all over the U.S and now globally.
