Event description

Description

Join us as we host a panel of experts who will talk about the importance of cultural competency when writing about the LGBTQ+ community. This program is free and open to all journalists and writers.

The panel will answer questions like: What are general best practices when covering the LGBTQ+ community? What terminology is appropriate/inappropriate? How do people want to be identified in stories? How can writers incorporate intersectionality in their projects?

Panelists: Katie Blackley, Tatiana Farfan-Narcisse, Corrine Jasmin, Rachel Lange, Kristina Marusic, Beth McDonough

Be a part of this engaging evening of discussion! And in true Pittsburgh fashion, there will be a raffle to win an annual membership to the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Association of LGBTQ Journalists (NLGJA).
