Positive Pathways: Breakfast for Change
Overview
We’re inviting organisations to come together at our outdoor centre for an inspiring morning of connection, collaboration, and discovery. This event offers a unique opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the Positive Pathways Programme—a youth-focused initiative designed to support personal growth, build resilience, and open doors to future opportunities.
Positive Pathways is funded by the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) which exists to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence.
Sheffield Hallam University evaluate Positive Pathways impact by assessing whether taking part in the programme affects a young person’s likelihood of committing crime.
We work with local partners to help us identify eligible young people to take part in this research project.
Positive Pathways is a randomised control trial (RCT) and the young person referred can be selected for either the Intervention or the Control Group.
Randomisation decision is entirely random, like a coin flip.
All young people referred to the research have a 50/50 chance of receiving either the Positive Pathways Intervention or being part of the Control group that receives different enrichment activities.
If selected for the Intervention Group, the young person being referred will attend a Residential Experience which will run during the school holidays.
