Description

The USTA Hawaii Pacific Section invites you to our Positive Coaching Alliance Coaches Workshop. As a coach, you are one of the biggest influencers in your athletes' lives. They look up to you for advice and support. What would it look like if we taught our students not only to win the game, but also to be diligent, kind, and respectful both on and off the playing field? Join us and let's create a positive, character-building youth sports culture together.

Keynote Speaker: Kiha Pimental

Kiha is a three-sport honors graduate from The Kamehameha Schools in 1980. He walked onto the Stanford University football team, eventually earning a scholarship as a wide receiver. He has coached high school football and various youth sports for over 24 years, using PCA principles since 2000. Kiha also has done coaching, specifically team building and communication retreats, for Punahou Schools, Kamehameha Schools, Seabury Hall, Hawaii Preparatory Academy, New Hope Christian Fellowship, and more.

Topic: Double-Goal Coach: Culture, Practices and Games

Some teams have fun, work hard and achieve great things. Most do not. This interactive workshop shows how great coaches build a culture that calls forth the best in people, including:

  • Elements of team culture that encourage athletes to give 100% effort
  • “10-Step Guide” to productive practice sessions that maximize results
  • The Art of “Game Coaching”

This workshop is open to coaches of all sports. Invite your fellow coaches on the island!
